UGC NET June 2024 New Syllabus
Students should be aware of the syllabus for the UGC NET so that they can prepare for the exam well applicants must make the strategy to score marks in Paper 1 and Paper 2 for the UGC NET to crack the exam and to crack the JRF. UGC NET June 2024 Syllabus Overview
The UGC NET exam has two parts, paper 1 and paper 2, the pattern is explained below.
General Paper (Paper-I)
Paper 1 of the UGC NET exam will include the questions from the following subjects.
- Teaching Aptitude questions
- Research Aptitude questions
- Comprehension questions
- Communication questions
- Mathematical Reasoning & aptitude questions
- Logical reasoning questions
- Data interpretation questions
- Information and communication technology (ICT) questions
- People & Environment questions
Subject-specific Paper (Paper-II)
Paper 2 of the UGC NET exam has subject-related questions. The topics for each subject are different, for this, the applicants have to download the PDF of the syllabus for the specific subject.
UGC NET June 2024 Exam Pattern
The exam pattern for the UGC NET exam is given below.
- Mode of Examination: Earlier the UGC NET exam was organized offline and now the NTA has started conducting the UGC NET Exam through the CBT online mode.
- Duration for Paper I: The duration for Paper 1 is one hour and Paper 1 has 100 marks.
- Duration for Paper II: The duration for Paper II is two hours and Paper 1 has 200 marks.
- Type of Questions: Paper I and Paper II will have MCQ-based questions.
- Marking Scheme: In both the Papers, one question is for two marks, and the exam does not have a negative marking.
UGC NET Paper 1 Marking Scheme
Paper 1 of UGC NET has 50 questions of 100 marks. The sub-division of questions and marks is given below.
- Teaching Aptitude– It has 5 questions for 10 marks.
- Research Aptitude– It has 5 questions for 10 marks.
- Reading Comprehension– It has 5 questions for 10 marks.
- Communication– It has 5 questions for 10 marks.
- Reasoning (including Maths)– It has 5 questions for 10 marks.
- Logical Reasoning– It has 5 questions for 10 marks.
- Data Interpretation– It has 5 questions for 10 marks.
- Information & Communication Technology (ICT)– It has 5 questions for 10 marks.
- People & Environment– It has 5 questions for 10 marks.
- Higher Education System: Governance, Polity & Administration– It has 5 questions for 10 marks.
